On June 24th and 25th, the strongest riders on the planet compete in Canazei for a stage of the revamped MTB World Cup
On June 24th and 25th, Canazei will host the UCI Enduro World Cup Val di Fassa Trentino, a stage of the MTB World Cup, which after the makeover due to the agreement between UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) and WBD (Warner Bros. Discovery), from this year incorporates various challenges of the mountain bike disciplines.
Val di Fassa, internationally appreciated for its landscapes, hospitality and race tracks, has in recent years been the venue for the Enduro World Series (EWS), which (from 2023) will be elevated to UCI World Cup status, thus recognised as the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro World Cup (EDR). So, at the end of June, Canazei is preparing to welcome the strongest riders and teams on the planet, exciting duels on the brink of a second, the best brands in the bike industry together with the most qualified mechanics.
The race tracks are set up on the trails of Fassa Bike District, between the areas of Ciampac (Alba di Canazei), Belvedere (Canazei) and Col Rodella (Campitello). The beating heart of the event, with the stage and all services, moves from the centre of Canazei (where it has been in recent years), to a short distance along the Avisio river, in a large area with the Event Village, Team Paddock and Expo Area next to it. A decision taken by Fassa Bike organising committee to improve services and the enjoyment of the event by participants and the public, which is increasing year by year. Among other things, this area is close Canazei-Pecol gondola, a strategic lift to watch the race from the edge of the track. Fassa's competition, in fact, is one of the few on the calendar to allow the public to access the EDR and E-EDR special stages even at high altitude, thanks to cable cars and chairlifts that offer a privileged viewpoint of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites from the very beginning.
